Project scope
A new retail development at Waterloo Station, consisting of basement level, ground & upper ground floors and a mixture of retail and back of house areas.
We have been working closely alongside Designer Group and the Design Team to deliver the Stage 5 3D MEP Coordination and working drawings for the new retail development at Waterloo Station.
Consisting of basement level, ground & upper ground floors and a mixture of retail and back of house areas. Engineered Pixels provided a fully managed digital engineering service to oversee the model and drawing production.

Challenges we faced
Using our vast engineering background enabled us to proactively propose alternative solutions to problems.
Due to the nature of working in an existing live building with a concave curvature, this naturally presented many challenges.
Having to coordinate the services allowing for the appropriate expansion and movement joints was just one of many. As the building was active and had a vast amount of live existing services that served the station, it took all the team’s experience and perseverance to enable full coordination of the new services.
The new retail units on the ground & upper ground level proved a challenge trying to maintain the clients required head height, with careful planning and engineering by the team this was achieved.
Our solution
On this project we provided 8000+ hours of support.
Due to the fast pace nature and extensive design development, careful project planning was critical to ensure areas were complete on time and the team deployed elsewhere on the project to ensure our progress was aligned with the programme.
A pre start Point Cloud Scan of the project was carried out to capture all of the undulations in the existing structure and existing services, this was absolutely critical to ensure we were engineering the new services within the live environment.
The Engineered Pixels team appointed to the project had a vast engineering background and this enabled us to proactively propose alternative solutions to problems we were facing ultimately streamlining the work flow with the Design Team.
